CP at any price. I draw the line after 8 cyl. I could make an exception for V10s, but the only possible V10s I could own would be the Viper (I’m to much of a pussy to drive) and V10 Ram (I’d just get a diesel)

That car has been on and off the market for at least 2 years. He’s not that far off on price, but I still wouldn’t take it for any more than $10,500.

Nice Price

Hmm. I’m not sure what the US used car market is like but that’s a £5k tops car here, which with the current exchange rate is around $6k. a friend has a 97 S500L in good condition that he bought for £2000. These huge cars depreciate heavily over here.

That’s a nice price. At the high end of “Nice Price” territory, but still nice.

That’s because you communists put high taxes on old large displacement land barges. If you pay $500 for a 500ci carb’d Cadillac you pay x% of purchase price in taxes.*
*may not be true in Commie havens like California.

Not at all, the taxes placed on emissions/engine size aren’t that punitive for a car of that age. All cars registered before 2001 (before tax was calculated based on CO2) are split into two categories below 1.6l and above 1.6l, an NA miata costs as much to tax as an imported Mustang. the barrier to ownership of these cars is fuel cost, ours is still low (relatively in terms of the past 10 years) so my friend, a single engineer makes enough money to tool around in it for a while.
I think I pay more tax for my GTI than he does on his S500L

CP probably
Looks like the same car on BringaTrailer.com last month. Not disclosed on CL, apparently: car’s recent history includes limo-for-hire use
